Service Description

Building Trust with Staff, Council, and the Community Build trust that lasts. Learn how consistency, clear communication, and repair work strengthen relationships across your municipality. Trust is the foundation of every strong municipality, especially in small communities where people know their leaders personally and pay close attention to how decisions are made. When trust is strong, conversations are easier, disagreements stay respectful, and staff and council can focus on the work instead of managing tension. When trust breaks down, even simple issues can turn into conflict. This session looks at what trust actually requires from leaders: consistency, clear communication, and follow through. You’ll explore how everyday actions—showing up prepared, treating people fairly, and being steady even when things get tense—build credibility over time. We’ll also talk about how to repair trust after conflict or mistakes, and how to rebuild relationships without defensiveness or blame. The goal is to help leaders strengthen connections with staff, council, and the community so the organization runs more smoothly, decisions land better, and people feel confident in the direction you’re setting. This webinar is part of the Practical Leadership Skills for Municipal Leaders & CAOs Webinar Series.
