Decision-Making Under Pressure: How to Stay Calm, Clear, and Confident Make stronger decisions under pressure. Learn how to stay calm, avoid reactive choices, and keep council aligned. Pressure is part of municipal leadership—tight timelines, incomplete information, and a room full of people expecting quick answers. In small and rural communities, that pressure can feel even heavier. This session helps leaders slow the moment down so decisions aren’t driven by panic, emotion, or whoever speaks the loudest. You’ll learn how to make solid choices even when the facts aren’t all there, how to avoid reactive decisions that create conflict later, and how to build a simple, defensible process your whole council can rely on. We’ll talk about staying calm when tensions rise, keeping council and the CAO aligned, and creating clarity so everyone understands how and why a decision was made. The goal is to help leaders feel confident under pressure, reduce unnecessary conflict, and make decisions that stand up to public scrutiny and future challenges. This webinar is part of the Practical Leadership Skills for Municipal Leaders & CAOs Webinar Series.
