Accessibility for Manitobans Act
Who is Required to have an Accessibility Plan:
In Manitoba, all employers - public, private, and non-profit - are required to comply with accessibility legislation under the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA).

All Private Sector and Non-Profit Employers are to have had a plan in place since May 25, 2025. This includes all shops, restaurants, hotels, professional services, charities, unions, community organizations, and places of worship that employ at least 1 person.

Public Sector Employers have been legislated to have an Accessibility Plan in place since the AMA came into effect and the plans must have been updated every 2 years to comply with all enacted accessibility standards.
