Practical Strategies for engaging residents—even the difficult ones. Community engagement is difficult for most small population communities. A handful of vocal, frustrated, or misinformed residents can dominate your time, derail your workday, and make even simple decisions feel difficult. This session supports Administrators with practical, plain-language tools to communicate clearly, set boundaries, de-escalate conflict and keep conversations productive. We will provide you with scripts, strategies and confidence-building techniques you can use immediately, whether you are dealing with chronic complainers, misinformation or people who simply don’t understand how municipal government works.
