Council Basics for Councillors (2 Parts)
LIVE WEBINAR
Available spots
Service Description
A clear, practical introduction to your roles and responsibilities as a Councillor. Part 1: 10 AM - 11:30 AM. Part 2: 2 PM - 3:30 PM Most people join municipal Council—or consider running—without ever having read any of the legislation, rules and laws that apply to their position. If we are being honest, most people ON Council haven’t paid any attention to their legislated role. This session gives Councils a clear, plain-language introduction to what the law expects from municipal Councils. You’ll learn the basics of how Councils make decisions, the authority you have, and do not have, and what happens once you are sworn in. We cover the key concepts in a way that is easy to understand. This session is divided into two parts. Part 1 at 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and Part 2 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
