Service Description

A clear, calm approach to navigating volunteer needs while protecting municipal assets. In many small populations, community facilities survive only because volunteers step up. We simply do not have the budget for staff. Rinks, halls, museums, libraries, and recreation spaces often depend on those dedicated people who care deeply about their community and the facilities where they donate their time. This creates a unique challenge for administrators: how do you support volunteers, maintain standards and protect municipal assets when the volunteers do not understand the roles and responsibilities of the community that owns the facilities? We explore the pros and cons of volunteer operations, common points of tension, and the governance and liability issues that happen in communities where the leadership becomes too dependent on its volunteers. We offer tools, templates and confidence to manage these relationships n a way that strengthens community assets rather than putting them at risk.
